How would you define gender.

Postby PlagueDoctor » Fri Jul 31, 2015 6:11 am

Just a quick question but most definitions of gender don't take in account for non-binary genders or are too vague so I wanted to know how you would define or explain gender. Thanks.

Non-binary...Nonbinary gender is an umbrella term covering any gender identity that doesn't fit within the gender binary...I don't know...I was called a Punk this weekend. Does this simply encompass everyone here? I'm not trans...but I could be...I'm not homo...but I could be... I'm just your average heterosexual PUNK. That has his women taken by Binaries. Women that think it's impossible for me to be non-binary. and men just know me as a PUNK. I think my gender defined starts with a P. I wish they'd just call me Pro or ProMe, my dad wanted to name me Penelope. Gender Punk. Gender Pervert... what goes. I kinda like dad's idea... you can call my gender Penelope, because I write.

I do not think FTM or MTF are real genders... just a way to describe someone
My current position:
My nonbinary/transgenderness has been denied as a phase. My parents want to make me cisgender.

I explain it thus:

Sex is what is between your legs.
Gender is what is between your ears

Both of them are on a spectrum, sex is from male to female and gender is from masculine to feminine.

Sex does not determine gender.
